The only infant school in Ireland to be awarded three environmental green flags has been honoured by Tanaiste Mary Coughlan.
St. Sylvester's Infant School in Malahide raised its latest green flag at a school ceremony attended by the Tanaiste and Minister for Education.
The new green flag marks the achievements of the pupils and staff in conserving water. Two other flags were previously awarded for recycling and energy conservation. The school has been working to teach the practice of conserving water in ways that are practical to children of a very young age.
A special Water Action Day was held to showcase all the projects and experiments put together by the children and the water saving practices implemented by the school.
