Five games into the AFL1 and our local club, St Sylvester’s, are leading the league on points difference.
Last week, they had a very convincing win after a slowish start for the senior footballers, shaking off the loss to Mary’s last week.
They had a lot of new faces starting, testament to the strength in depth they have developed in their teams, and seemed to get stronger as the game progressed, completely dominating the second half.
The final score was St. Sylvester’s 2-13 Fingal Ravens 0-7.

Malahide Affinity Network - The Fear of Shopping
The Malahide Chamber of Commerce had their second Affinity Network meeting in the Grand Hotel on Wednesday, 14th April 2010.
Guest speaker, Branding Expert, Gerard Tannam (see picture to the left) addressed a group of leading local business people in a talk entitled The Fear of Shopping.
Thanks to the recent economic carnage, the 'fear of shopping’ is keeping many buyers out of the marketplace, and Gerard spoke about how it's up to business owners to make it safe again for customers to do business with them.
Gerard also spoke about branding and the importance of building a relationship with your customers.
Local business consultant and the network facilitator, John Byrne of Saol Business Partners commented that, “Gerard certainly provided some food for thought and reaction from the attendees has been excellent. We certainly need to look at business challenges with a fresh perspective if we are going to help ourselves in the current challenging trading environment.”
Sign up for Gerard’s Email Newsletter: http://www.islandbridge.com/?/brandwidth
The Malahide Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Gerard for giving his time to the Chamber last Wednesday, and hopes that all attendees enjoyed the evening.
