The next Green Village Malahide Information Meeting shall take place in Malahide Library on Tuesday, 13th September 2011 from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.
The Fingal County Council Growing Places initiative has developed from the twin ambitions of creating a more diverse range of open space environments and the need to match available resources with competing demands.
As part of the County Council’s wider commitment to Bio-Diversity and developing Green Infrastructure, Growing Places consists of five main elements:
1 - A change in grass maintenance regimes;
2 - A focus on street trees and open space shrubberies;
3 - Developing planting programmes on open spaces;
4 - Improving the quality of active recreation facilities;
5 - Liaising with Residents Groups about the detailed implementation of the ini-tiative.
Kevin Halpenny from Fingal County Council shall kindly be giving a short guest presentation on the Growing Spaces initiative and providing answers to that key question, 'So why the long grass?'
Also, there shall be Green Village updates on:
- Malahide Allotments Project;
- Energy Efficiency Project.
Please note that this is a free event, with all welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you all there!
