Ireland's Colin O'Brien made a 1,000-mile journey yesterday in an attempt to make up for his disappointing experience in the A.T.P. Slovenian Open Challenger in Ljubljana.O'Brien came up short in the second round of qualifying on a 6-07-6 (7/5) scoreline to Croatian Dino Marcan, and just a few hours later he flew to Manchester en route to the lower-tier I.T.F. Futures event in Wrexham.
The Malahide left-hander will team up today with his regular doubles partner, James Cluskey, in the pairs competition.
And the north Dublin duo, who are the top seeds, face unseeded British pair Miles Bugby and Marcus Willis in their opening contest.
